Our Community
The roots of the Justin Havre Team are in Calgary. This is where our team started and where we’ve built the team we are so proud of today. Over 14,000 Calgarians have trusted us to help them through some of the biggest decisions in their lives, and that trust means the world to us.
Being part of a community means contributing to it too. That’s why giving back has remained an important part of who we are as a team — whether we’re supporting local organizations, volunteering our time, bringing people together or helping more people discover what Calgary has to offer.
We work together, support each other and share what we know. Nobody on this team builds alone, and nothing on this page was accomplished by one person.
Community Contributions
The Justin Havre Team began operations in 2005, and in 2014 we officially launched our community initiatives with the purpose of supporting the local organizations that make Calgary a place people want to live.
We are proud to say that since 2014, the Justin Havre Team has donated over $1,191,813.48. This number matters because it represents our commitment to giving back to the City and community that has supported us, and in the power of what happens when we come together as a team.
Justin Havre and the team have continued supporting organizations and causes that help children, families, first responders, people experiencing hardship and others throughout our community.
Our contributions have grown alongside the team, but the reason behind them has stayed the same: when a community gives you the opportunity to grow, you should look for ways to give something back.
This is a long-term commitment, and one we intend to continue building on in the years ahead.
Where It Goes
Our giving has reached organizations and causes supporting many different parts of the Calgary community and beyond. The needs they address may be different, but the principle behind supporting them is the same: helping strengthen the community around us.
Deep Roots
Giving back isn't about choosing one cause and stopping there. Over time, we've had the opportunity to support many organizations while building particularly strong relationships with a few whose work continues to make an important difference. Here are three spotlights.
Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation
The Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation raises funds in support of children’s hospitals and the care, equipment, research and programs that help children and their families. Our support has grown over many years, making it our largest charitable contribution to date.
Behind that number are children and families going through moments when access to the right care and support matters enormously. We’re proud to continue contributing to work that helps families when they need it most.
Legacy Place Society
First responders, emergency personnel, military members and their families spend their careers showing up for other people, often under circumstances most of us will never experience. Legacy Place Society provides support designed around the unique pressures they face.
This relationship has become one of the largest parts of our charitable giving. The people who show up for a community should know their community is prepared to show up for them too.
Calgary Drop-In Center
The Calgary Drop-In Centre provides shelter, meals, health services and support to people experiencing homelessness across our city. That direct, everyday impact is one of the reasons its work matters to us.
Beyond our financial contributions, our team has spent time volunteering at the Drop-In Centre — another way we can show up for neighbours who need support in the city our team calls home.
Showing Up
There’s a difference between supporting an organization from a distance and spending time alongside the people doing the work. Both matter. Financial contributions are one of the clearest ways we can measure our impact, but community involvement doesn’t begin and end with a dollar amount.
Sometimes it means giving time. Sometimes it means bringing people together. Sometimes it means using the platform we have built to draw more attention to the city, organizations and people around us. Our team members have volunteered with organizations around Calgary, including the Calgary Food Bank and Calgary Drop-In Centre.
Volunteering gives our team another way to participate directly, work together outside of real estate and better understand some of the needs that exist in our city.
Where It Goes
The idea of community matters inside the Justin Havre Real Estate Team, but it also extends to the people and families we’ve had the opportunity to work with. Real estate can be an individual business, but that doesn’t mean agents have to build their careers alone.
We make time to bring people together through team events, celebrations, our annual Stampede BBQ and other opportunities to connect beyond the normal workday. Some of those moments are for the team. Others bring together past clients, families and people who have been part of our community over the years.
Those relationships matter. Strong communities are built by staying connected, supporting one another and creating opportunities for people to come together long after a transaction or workday is over.
